

A beautiful place surely filled with open skies, wildflowers, and the gentle hum of bees. He fought the good fight after a courageous battle with cancer being treated at Duke Hospital and a brief stay at Beacon Place.
Bobby was born on October 24, 1943. He graduated from Carthage High School and joined the U.S. Air Force thereafter. After completion of service, he went on to earn his degree from Sandhills Community College. He worked in many areas of Human Resources including retiring from KAO Specialties of America.
He built a life full of honest work and cherished moments, found joy in the simple gifts of God’s creation and shared that joy freely. Bobby was an avid Beekeeper, Guitar Player, Farmer, Sailor, and loved his boat.
Bobby was a devoted Christian, who knew the love of the Lord and loved spreading the Word with each and everyone he met. He served a faithful journey as a head Deacon of Southeast Baptist Church and other various roles. Mr. Bob could be regularly seen with a camera in hand ready to capture all of the various church activities from Vacation Bible School, Soccer Saturdays, Mission Work, and more. Bobby enjoyed leading a Sunday School class each Sunday and spending time fellowshipping with his friends in Christ.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Nevett Milton and Lura Morton, and his brothers, Kenneth and Billy Morton.
Bobby was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and true patriarch of his family. His memory will be cherished by his sweetheart of 62 years, Janice T. Morton; his beloved children, Angela (Mark) Stuart and Christopher Morton; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas (Taylor) Stuart and Mikayla (Alex) Conner; his dear sister, Georgia Baldwin; and many treasured fur babies.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 7, 2026 at Southeast Baptist Church, 5011 Liberty Rd., Greensboro, NC. Visitation will be held at 2pm and the Funeral Service will follow at 3pm. Officiating will be Chris Phelps and Thomas Bounds.
Burial concludes at Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park, 6504 Liberty Rd., Julian, NC on March 7, 2026 at 4:00pm with military salute.
