

He was born June 1st, 1948 in South Hill, VA. Cal was the son of Clyde and Eunice Lynch. Cal was a semipro baseball pitcher. Professionally Calton was an expert carpenter, serving some of Greensboro’s renowned doctors and lawyers. Calton was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Randleman and served as a deacon.
He was a devoted husband to Judy Lynch for 56 years. Judy and Cal loved spending time together deer hunting, gardening and racing homing pigeons. They also enjoyed watching sports-especially college basketball, major league baseball and NASCAR.
He was known by many as, “Buckshot.” Cal’s greatest joys came from spending time with family and friends, storytelling, racing homing pigeons, deer hunting, and fishing.
Calton is survived by his daughter, Julie Lynch Clary (Greg); daughter, Heather Lynch Boling (Todd); grandchildren, Margaret Louise Clary, Gregory James Clary, Jr., John Lynch Clary, Gibson John-Calton Boling and Leighton Lynch Boling; sisters, Doris Woolfenden and Violet Slack (Dave); special nephews, Gordon Morgan, Ken Trollinger and special nieces, Sharon Trollinger, Theresa Shackleford and Shelby Brookfield.
Cal was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm on Saturday, May, 9th at Grace Baptist Church, 435 NC-62 in Randleman. The family will receive condolences beginning at 1pm until service time. A graveside service will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Cal’s pallbearers will be daughter Heather Boling; sons-in-law Greg Clary and Todd Boling; grandsons, James Clary and John Clary and nephews, Ken Trollinger, Gordon Morgan, Raynee Woolfenden. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughter, Margaret Louise Clary; grandson, Gibson John-Calton Boling and granddaughter, Leighton Lynch Boling.
Cal’s family and friends will always remember Cal as being someone who worked hard, told excellent stories, liked to have a good time and never gave up. His daughters will remember him as “someone who could fix anything but a broken heart.”
Cal loved the Lord, enjoyed studying the Bible and sharing about how knowing the Lord can change your life. “Let not your heart be troubled” as he “fought the good fight.”
