Mrs. Carolyn Garner LaCross

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm Chapel with The Reverend Dr. Joe Giaritelli officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Mrs. LaCross was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church, the Joy Explosion Sunday school class, she also taught Pre-School Sunday school and worked in the Toddlers and Twos Nursery. She retired from AT&T with over 30 years of service. Mrs. LaCross was a volunteer for the Crisis Control Center and Volunteers to the Court. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and making home improvements. She was preceded in death by her parents, John “Roland” and Esther “Tula” Willard Garner and a brother, Jack Garner.

Mrs. LaCross is survived by her daughters, Wanda LaCross of Graham, Angela LaCross Poore and husband, Phillip of McLeansville, son, Cray Shawn LaCross of Greensboro, sister, Joyce Garner Batten and husband, Joe of Clarkton, grandchildren, Marcia Poore and husband, Ray Johnson, Krystal Poore and husband, Chris Valdez and great-grandson, Branton Valdez.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
