Charlotte Evelyn Collins Grzeszczak

Charlotte Evelyn Collins Grzeszczak, 86, of Greensboro died Monday, July 22, 2013. She was surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren as they held hands, prayed, and sang Amazing Grace to her. She was the daughter of the late McGurtha and Dewey Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Grzeszczak, daughter Angela Tondalea, sons Paul Grzeszczak and Thomas Spillman.

Survivors include daughters: Olivia Thompson of Little Silver, NJ, Gail Casper and husband, Bill, of Asheboro, NC, Diane Ballard and husband, Rick, of High Point, NC, Lisa Hare and husband, Jerry, of Greensboro, NC, Dori Stoneman and husband, Mike, of Greensboro, NC; sons: Frank Grzeszczak of Fort Lauderdale, FL, John Grzeszczak of Fort Lauderdale, FL, James Grzeszczak of Pompano Beach, FL and Matt Grzeszczak of Hollywood, FL. Sisters, Ann Stewart and Becky Saint James of Greensboro, brother, Sam Collins of Stokesdale, NC. In addition, she was the most special grandmother to 23 children and 24 great grandchildren.

She was born in Mount Airy, NC. A woman of great faith and friend to all, she was a member of the Hinshaw United Methodist Church.

Her greatest accomplishment in life was raising twelve children while teaching them kindness, generosity, and most of all, love. So special and so loved, she will be in our hearts forever. Mother, you did a beautiful job with all of us. Her spirit lives in her children and grandchildren’s lives. We have a new shining star, like the brightness of heaven, now that she has found eternal life.

Services to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, July 26th, 11:00 a.m. at Hinshaw United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
