

Clark was born October 9, 1945 to Ava Christine Clark of Alamance, NC and Josiah “Joe” Klutz Setzer of Cleveland, NC. Christine remarried Robert A. Davis, who was a father to Clark from the age of 5. Clark worked in various machine shops throughout his career as a tool and die maker. During his career he worked for Keys Block and Repair, Custom Industries and Unique Tool and Design, and also made custom race car parts. Outside of work, Steve was an accomplished cook and was known for his BBQ and sauce. He was a longtime member of The Castaways and attended the Home Church of Rock and Roll, The Bushes and The Elks Lodge.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joan Throckmorton Setzer, who was born in Greensboro, NC. Clark is survived by his son, Ashley Steven Setzer (Lynn) and granddaughter, Ashlyn, his son, Bradley Setzer and grandson, Jonathan, and daughter, Natalie Koeplinger (Jens) and grandson, Sailor Koeplinger.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at the palliative care unit at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital and Emergency Room. They took exceptional care of our father during his time there and treated him with the highest dignity and respect.
