Clyde Clifton McPherson

Mr. Clyde Clifton McPherson, 94, died Saturday, Jan 7, 2012. He was born on November 15, 1917 to the late W.J and Victoria McPherson who died shortly after his birth and raised by his father and loving stepmother Viola McPherson.

Mr. McPherson, who grew up in South Greensboro and Snow Camp NC, spent much of his life in the tire recapping business.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 66 years, Mildred Cheek McPherson. Surviving family members are his sister, Doris Ledbetter, Pleasant Garden; and his four daughters.

Mr. McPherson lived with his daughter Patricia A. McPherson, Pleasant Garden; who lovingly cared for him during his last years. Also surviving are daughters, Jeane M Yardman and husband Len of Pleasant Garden, NC; Victoria L Swain and husband John of McLeansville, NC; and Beverly M Morrison and husband Jeff of Gainesville, GA. Grandchildren are Chris Webb, Todd Webb and wife April, Keith Webb and wife Thressa, Laura McCollum and husband Jeff; all of Greensboro. Sherry MacIntosh and husband Mike of McLeansville , Heather Coghill and husband Brian of Stoney Creek; Lyndsey Humphries and husband Adam, and Clifton Morrison all of Gainesville.

Nine great-grandchildren also survive Mr. McPherson.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. McPherson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
