

A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
Born in 1950, Connie grew up in Greensboro and graduated from Norte Dame High School. She received her Associates degree from Wingate College in Business and her RN degree in Columbia, SC.
Connie continued her nursing career by becoming a Certified I.V. Therapist. She worked in several hospitals and was on the IV Team at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC until she became ill. She took great pride in her specialization and was well known for her excellent work.
The greatest joy in her life came from being a mother and then a grandmother. She enjoyed crochet, knitting and rug hooking. She loved animals and had a great sense of humor. She was also an avid reader.
Connie is preceded in death by her father, Julian T. Brantley, Sr. MD and by her mother, Louise Lucier Brantley.
She is survived by her daughter Brantley Lewis, husband Mike Lewis of Royal, AR and by daughter Jennifer Lyerly of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren Avery Elizabeth Lewis and William Chance LeGros. She is also survived by her brothers Julian T. Brantley Jr. MD of Bethesda, MD and his family; John L. Brantley of Ponte Vedra Beach FL and his family; James A. Brantley of Greensboro; her sister Catherine B. Khalili of Fredericksburg, VA and her family and her Aunt Helen Doyle Black of High Point.
The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N Elm Street in Greensboro, on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 7:00 PM.
