OBITUARIO

Constance Carolyn Gehring

8 agosto , 19334 mayo , 2021

On Monday, May 4th, 2021, Connie Gehring passed away peacefully at the age 87.

Connie was born on August 8, 1933 in Sacramento, California to Earl and Eva Casey. She graduated from McClatchy High School. She earned her associate and nursing degree to become a Registered Nurse in 1954. In 1956, she went to Oahu, HI and began her nursing career and met her future husband Richard Donald Gehring. Connie and Don were married in 1957 at the Carmel Mission.

Costa Rica and France were next on their journey while raising four children and exploring new horizons at every opportunity. Connie was always active in her community and loved golf, gourmet cooking, piano, the beach and swimming. She always ruled the table in dominoes. Connie co-founded Mendocino Nurses Registry in 1985, and was active in her nursing career until recently. Most of all, Connie was all about friends and family. Planning a family event, trip or gathering came naturally to her, making lifetime memories along the way. She was with good humor, quick-witted and never hard to find at the Lazy-G-Ranch cocktail hours. She was loved by many - her bright spark will be missed.

Connie is preceded in death by her husband Richard Donald Gehring and son Glen Timothy Gehring. She is survived by her three children Susan Gehring Hawkinson (Donald), Stephen Casey Gehring (Robin), Jennifer Gehring Criscuolo (Michael), her sister Marilyn Marjorie Hiebert (Edwin), her brothers-in-law James Gehring and Thomas Gehring. Also survived by her are many nieces, nephews and seven grandchildren that she adored.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Greensboro, NC at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A celebration of life gathering for family and friends will follow mid July in Healdsburg, CA.

Advantage Funeral & Cremations of Greensboro is assisting the family during this time.

I’m very sorry for your loss. Of course I met Connie years ago when I did small, odd jobs for her. She was a very nice person.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Connie was a very witty, strong lady. No matter the challenge, she would strive to make things happen. Always enjoyed our time together especially on outings or trips to the Y. Thank you for sharing your mom with us here at Heritage Greens.

I was lucky enough to spend some time with Connie in the past. I loved her sense of humor and smile. We had many long talks about life and our children. She is sorely missed but remembered with love and blessings the time I spent with her.
