A Celebration of Cutty’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:45 pm.
Born in New Jersey on January 11, 1963, Cutty grew up in Neptune City. Cutty was an Executive Chef for over 30 years and has cooked for several presidents and celebrities. He was the owner and operated his own catering company, Cutty’s Catering. He loved to cook and entertain folks. Cutty never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone, always ready to share a story or a joke. He even entertained people with an occasional magic trick. Cutty liked listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, always willing to help anyone in need. He was always busy working with his hands and if he wasn’t making something in the kitchen, he was building or fixing something. Cutty was a loving and devoted, father, fiancé, son, brother, uncle, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. He was of the Methodist faith and prayed every night that God would watch over all his family and friends and anyone else that needed God’s help. He loved his fur babies, his dog, Riley; and his cat, Brindle. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Stanford Atkinson; and his brother, Bruce Atkinson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his fiancée, Joanne Forte-Leroux; his three sons, Kyle, Zack, and Max; his mother, Betty Brannon and her husband Robert “Bob”; his sister, Debra Atkinson; his nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
