David Wallace Ryan

David was born in Guilford County to the late Wallace Cleveland Ryan and Bernice Glidewell Ryan on 3/06/37. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers Rodger Ryan and Raymond Ryan.

David graduated from Sumner High School and NC State University with a degree in Textiles. He was employed with Burlington Industries for 41 years and retired from the Corporate Purchasing Department in 2001. David served as a Captain in the US Army Reserves in the 1960's. He received a Volunteer Recognition Award for his outstanding service to Habitat for Humanity. David was a member of First Baptist Church for 31 years and served as a deacon and on committees.

David loved his family and leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 31 years, Judy Lockamy Ryan, son Ken Ryan (Sue), daughter Debra Tedder, stepson Lee Ward (Melinda), stepdaughter Kelly Haas (Brian); grandchildren Danielle Chandler (Jared), Caitlin Tedder, Christopher Haas (Brittiany), Allison Haas, Courtney Ward; great grandchildren Corbin, Annslee, Zoey, Oakley, Jaycee; brother Allan Ryan (Phyllis), sister-in-law Dianne Ryan.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church on Friday, February 18, 2022 with visitation from 1:00-l:45 and the service at 2:00. Interment will follow in the Church Columbarium. Masks and social distancing will be required.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or Habitat for Humanity.
