

Mr. Debro “ Pops” Glenn McKoin Jr., 78, a resident of Greensboro died Friday March 2, 2012 at his residence. Mr. McKoin was born December 9, 1933 in Colfax, the son of Debro Glenn and Vesta Whitaker McKoin. A carpenter by trade he was employed with Elliott’s Wholesale Florist and later with Steve’s Friendly BP. He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church. Mr. McKoin was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cathy Sue McKoin; two sisters, Alice Cox, Janie McKoin; one brother, Wade McKoin and a grandson, Joshua Glenn Cook.
On October 27, 1951 he was married to the former Nellie Almeda Nunn who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Teresa M. Tolbert (Dale) of Stokesdale, Sandra M. Cook (Harold) of Greensboro, Tammy M. Robbins (Tim) of Greensboro; three sons, Steve McKoin (Cathy) of Greensboro, Tommy McKoin (Liz) of Browns Summit, Paul McKoin (Kim) of Greensboro; one sister, Betty M. Comer of Colfax; one brother, Terry McKoin (Judy) of Colfax; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and his canine companion “Shelly”.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Northwest Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Dr. Ricky Hamann and Pastor J.R. Gossett. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
