A memorial service will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Baptist Church by Reverend Donnie Strader.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church, and a reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
Deloris was born June 2, 1947 in Taylorsville, NC, the daughter of Everette Lee James and Mary Francis Price James.
Deloris was of the Baptist faith and was employed with United Guaranty for 12 years. She will be remembered as a beautiful soul who had a positive attitude and put others first, never complaining. She loved her dog Trevor and watching the Lifetime Movie Network. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Deloris was preceded in death by her sister, Shelia James.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Joy Walker (Nissi Braverlly) of Omaha, NE, and Amanda Knox of Randleman; sisters, Marylee Jones (Jimmy) of Greensboro and Cathy Stewart of High Point; brothers, Lucky and Eddie James, both of Gibsonville; granddaughter, Brianna Knox.
The family asks with gratitude that memorials in Deloris’s name be made to Clapp’s Nursing Center, 5229 Appomattox Rd., Pleasant Garden, NC 27313.
