Desmond Patrick Morrissey died Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Fleming Island, FL. A native of The Bronx, New York he was born March 9, 1935 to the late parents of Patrick Joseph Morrissey and Helena Kelly Morrissey.
He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and Manhattan College. After college, he honorably served in the Army and Army Reserves. He lived in Boston where he met and married his wife Jane O’Sullivan Morrissey on February 5, 1972. He loved to ski, sail and travel in Europe. He was devoted to his family and his Catholic faith.
He is preceded in death by his wife and his parents. He is survived by his children Meghan Jane Henning, Amy Patricia Morrissey and Patrick Desmond Morrissey; his son in law Brent Henning and daughter in law Susan Morrissey; and grandchildren Jack William Henning, Holland Jane Henning, Makayla Harper Morrissey and Brooklyn Jane Morrissey.
The Memorial Mass will be Friday, February 11th at 11am at St. Pius Catholic Church in Greensboro N.C. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Desmond to Greensboro Urban Ministry.
