A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Friday, May 19, 2023, with Monsignor Marcaccio officiating. Don will be laid to rest in Salisbury National Cemetery, at a later date. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday evening, May 18, 2023 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
Don was born on April 21, 1939 in Sangamon, Illinois to the late Frank and Tasy Vyverman. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus and AMBUCS. Don was a founding member of Blaze Fastpitch and was the owner and operator of S.O.S. and raised amazing kids. Don was a veteran of the United States Air Force and graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1968 with a Bachelors of Science Degree. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, LuAnne Hawkins; brothers-in-law, Donald Hawkins and Dr. Stan Bartus; and a nephew, Steven Hawkins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Trudy Vyverman; son, Johny Vyerman of San Francisco; daughter, Sheryl Vyverman (Terrance Parker) of Greensboro; granddaughters, Tasi, Laney and Katie Parker; sisters, Margaret Bartus (David Crombie) of Bloomfield, Connecticut and Sister Mary Francella of Springfield, Illinois.
