Mrs. Doris Jean Harrington Jukes

McLeansville, NC: Mrs. Doris Jean Harrington Jukes, 82, of Ashton Place died peacefully Tuesday, April 5, 2011. She was born in Chautauqua County, NY to the late Clarence and Beatrice Link Harrington.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at Great Marsh Baptist Church Cemetery in Saint Pauls, NC.

Mrs. Jukes was a member of New Bessemer Baptist Church of McLeansville and Great Marsh Baptist Church in Saint Pauls. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Jamestown General Hospital in Jamestown, NY prior to fostering 26 children. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and a Girl Scout leader.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Ralph Jukes and a sister Dorthy Luke.

She is survived by her daughters; Lori S. Jukes Whitley and husband Kipp of Greensboro and Bonnie Jukes of Charlotte, NC; son Mark Jukes of Jamestown, NY; brother, Stanley Harrington and wife Marion of Dewittville, NY and sister Joyce Dann and husband Roger of Rocky Mount, NC and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home 515 N. Elm St.,Greensboro,NC.
