

A celebration of Dot's life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 N. Elm Street. Interment will follow in New Garden Friends Meeting Cemetery, 801 New Garden Road.
Dot was born October 22, 1950 in Newark, NJ to Pauline and the late Alfred Odeven. She graduated Governer Livingston Senior High School and attended Berkeley Business School in Berkeley Heights, NJ. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist. Some of her hobbies included, gardening, animal rescue, sewing, painting and crafts.
Dot and her husband Allen own and operate Roy's Automotive Center, Inc., founded in 1977, where they received numerous awards and recognition, including The Piedmont Triad Business Ethics Award from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in 2011.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Roy was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Alice Odeven Westervelt and Gerrett Westervelt. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Allen Edward Roy; her mother, Pauline Odeven; daughter, Cynthia J. Roy; sister, Cynthia Nutt and husband, Robert and her nieces, Christina and Amy Nutt. Also surviving are numerous extended loving family and friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Gustav Magrinat and the staff of Moses Cone Cancer for the wonderful care given to Dot and her family while in their care.
