

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm St. Chapel in Greensboro. A graveside service will follow at Alamance Memorial Park at 1:30 pm.
Born in Burlington, NC to the late Cletus and Maggie Henderson Chapman, Dorothy was a member of Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed singing, being active in her church, cooking, baking, and the simple things in life. Dorothy was a easy going southern lady, who liked making new friends. Her favorite and most often used quote was “Oh me, Oh my”. Dorothy was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her grandson, Chris Harper; two sisters, Naomi Ashley and Ruth Gillispie; and a brother, Donald Chapman.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda Harper and her husband Mike of Brown Summit; a sister, Esther Terrell of Gibsonville; a brother, James Chapman of Texas; a granddaughter, Kellie Harper of Charleston, SC; 1 great-granddaughter, Samantha Harper; 2 great-grandsons, Sebastian and Trevor Harper; and other extended family.
