A private graveside service will be held at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Dorothy was born January 10, 1920 in Greensboro, the daughter of Thomas Gaither Harris, Sr. and Margaret Miller Cross Harris.
Dorothy was a member of Friendly Avenue Church of Christ and will be remembered for her big personality and feisty spirit.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Martin Roberts; sister, Mary Harris Cranford; brothers, William Isaac Harris and Thomas Gaither Harris, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Margaret McCurry and husband Edward; grandchildren, Helen Beasley York and husband David Falls and Selena Welborn and husband Jason; great grandchildren, Ashton Ann York, Christopher Dillon York and Nikki Megan Welborn.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made with gratitude to the charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to thank Beacon Place for providing loving, attentive and comforting care for Dorothy in her final days as well as Moses Cone Hospital and Camden Health and Rehabilitation.
Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel is assisting the Roberts family.
