Edith Gonzalez Joyce was born on December 10, 1925 in Danville, Virginia. She and her husband, Elizardo G. Gonzalez moved to Greensboro, N.C. in 1951 and lived there until her death on September 21, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 1, 2011 at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm St. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, beside her husband Elizardo G. Gonzalez, who preceded her in death.
Her life was devoted to her family in her role as a mother, grandmother and aunt.
She is survived by her sons, Eduardo Gonzalez and his wife Lou of Greensboro, and Elizardo Gonzalez of Charleston, S.C. Her grandchildren, Peter Gonzalez, Lucinda Gonzalez, Nicole O.Brant and her husband Dr. Andy Brant; and Ryan E. Gonzalez. Also, her great grandchildren Ethan and Alex Brant.
Family and friends will be able to pay respects and visit her family between Noon and 1:45 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
