Mr. Edward "Ed" Leroy Cobbler was born October 6, 1947 and entered Heaven May 27, 2023. Services to celebrate his life will be at 1 PM, Tuesday, June 6 at Harvest Church, 4915 Guilford College Road, Greensboro, NC 27407, officiated by Pastors Joseph and Misti Coyne. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive guests beginning at 11AM prior to the service. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Cobbler of the home; sons, Lee (Gina) Cobbler and Brian Cobbler; daughter, Ashley (Andrew) Pearson; three granddaughters, Lauren, Alexis and Kali Cobbler and a grandson on the way; sister, Carolyn Cobbler; stepson, Jody (Jaime) Garaventa; adopted son, Evan "Bobby" Vo; nephews, Josh Cobbler and Wesley Kilgor, along with several other dear nieces and nephews; God children, Mikiah Isley, Gabriel Gleason and Alexa Gleason. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Perry Cobbler, Kenny Cobbler and Gail Cobbler Blakely.
Ed had an unforgettable impact on so many lives and a distinguished career. He served his Savior, country, family and community with determination and sincerity. While previously serving as off-duty police and while currently conducting private investigations, have had experience in the planning, supervising, and management of security operations at multiple businesses including retail.
CAREER Followed investigations to such locales as San Francisco, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, New York,
HIGHLIGHTS District of Columbia, Mexico, and several South American destinations.
Provided local executive protection for vice presidential candidate.
Saved insurance companies millions of dollars in liability and workers comp cases. In one case alone plaintiff sued for $3 million, yet jury awarded nothing.
Involved in a local 1997 alienation of affection case that became an international news story. Conducted successful investigation which resulted in a $1 million judgment in favor of ex-wife.
MILITARY United States Army. Served in Vietnam combat unit 13 months (First Air Cavalry). Honorably discharged as Sergeant E-5. 1965-1968
