

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 21, 2011 at Community Bible Church, located at 4125 Johnson St., in High Point, with the Rev. Robert McKeehan officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro.
Jean was born September 4, 1930, to the late Morris and Mildred Wright, in Pinebluff, Mississippi. She was a longtime member of Pinecroft Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. Jean was a longtime resident of the Sedgefield Community, where she was a member of the Women’s Club and the Sedgefield Garden Club. She helped in numerous charitable organizations and enjoyed volunteering her time. She was loved dearly by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ernie Garrett, who just passed away this past June.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Jesse J. “Buddy” Stafford; son, Jerry Stafford; daughter, Wanda Garrett; grandchildren, Jason Garrett and his wife Monica, Jessica Jackson and her husband Matthew, Lee Stafford and his wife Christine, and Lexi Stafford; great-grandchildren, Chase Garrett, Sam Garrett, Julianna Garrett, Helena Garrett, Luke Jackson, and Kate Jackson; and two sisters, Paulene Neal and Polly Horne.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 pm Sunday evening at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., in Greensboro.
