Greensboro Dateline:
Your mother is always with you. She is the place you came from, your first home… She is your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you – not time, not space…not even death.
Our mother very gently died on Friday morning. She waited patiently for a long time to take her God’s hand.
Mama was born in the village known then as Glenwood. She was a child of the depression years, a WW II bride, a baseball “widow” while Thump played baseball, a mature mother of Brendy and Carolyn (Tooter) her two daughters with her husband Thurman “Thump” Lowe. She held several jobs, but the one that endeared her to many was at Home Drug Store in Glenwood where she was Mama to many young people who loved her for helping them grow up. She loved them right back and cherished them her whole life.
Mama and Daddy loved the twenty years they lived at Emerald Isle. She loved the beach and she walked many, many miles in meditation and prayer.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Eva Snyder Pegg, her husband Thump, her sister Frances and her brothers Willard, Lester, and Curtis Pegg.
Surviving are her girls Brenda Lowe Stewart and her husband Doug “Sparky” Stewart and her baby Carolyn Anne Lowe; her nieces Wilma Kay Pegg Johnson, Lisa Pegg Stoddard and two nephews Dennis L. Lowe and David L. Pegg.
We loved and enjoyed our life with her and we rejoice for her in death.
“You shall go out with joy and be led out in peace…” Isaiah 55:12
We ask that you join us Tuesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel for a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a service to honor her life and show her the love we felt at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel
