Funeral service will be held today, Saturday August 22, 2015, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Ethel was born November 28, 1918 in Rockingham County to the late David and Beulah Trantham. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company. Ethel enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and canning. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Arnold E. Moore of Oak Ridge and Reba C. Davis and her husband Jim of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Arnold Moore and his wife Laurie, Marie Moore, and Neil Davis; two sisters, Sarah Gaydon and Rosa Pierce; three brothers, Sam, David, and Alton Trantham; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home this afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 pm.
