

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro, from 7:00 until 9:00 pm.
Geno was born November 1, 1958 and grew up in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Westhill High School (Class of 1976) and served in the United States Marines for four years. He then graduated from Southern Tech, GA with an Associate Degree and later studied at Kennesaw State College. He was owner and operator of Capital Profits Solution, was a school bus driver for Guilford County Schools, and drove for Horizon Transport across the United States. He loved volunteering his free time for the youth in the community. He served with the Boy Scouts of America from 2004 – 2018 as a Cub Master with Troop 16, Boy Scout merit badge leader with Troop 26, and leader and coordinator of the Venture Crew Troop 2016. At Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, he taught religious education for middle school age students. Geno also volunteered as a Parent Booster for Ragsdale Marching Band for four years and was a volunteer assistant wrestling coach at Jamestown Middle School. He also enjoyed reading, traveling, the great outdoors, and family times. Geno was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Iorio and a nephew, Christopher Warga.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Margaret Doody Iorio; son, Nicolo Iorio; mother, Barbara Iorio; sister, Angela Warga; brothers, Anthony Iorio (Lisa) and Jim Iorio (Jennifer); a niece; several nephews; and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to them with love and support.
