

Frances Bowman Pearson, 97 of Greensboro was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Ashton Health and Rehab in McLeansville. Born on August 12, 1927 in Guilford County, where she lived her entire life, Frances attended Monticello High School. She married the love of her life, William S. Pearson on June 7, 1947. Together they had six children.
Frances loved her flower gardens and was known to stop on the side of the road to pick flowers. As a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, canning and baking for her family and community. Her meringue pies were the best. Growing up she learned to play the piano and used her talents at Gethsemane Methodist, where she was the oldest member. She loved her children however when the grandchildren and great grandchildren came, they stole her heart. She played a large part in helping to raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren while their parents worked.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Isaiah Bowman and Vera Tate Bowman; her loving husband, William S. Pearson; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Adkins and Ruth Ann Keener; son, George Alvin Pearson; and her siblings, Clay, Vestal and Richard Bowman, Betty Rumley, Mae Duggins and Carolyn Adams.
Frances is survived by her children, Karen Starnes, Clay Pearson and wife Donna, and Jay Pearson and wife Paula; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Gethsemane Methodist Church, 100 NC-150, Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
