Mrs. Thompson was born in Burnsville, NC to the late William and Ada Sellars on June 14, 1919. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and just loved serving The Lord in any kind of capacity. Being the Recording Secretary at the church for many years, blessed her life beyond measure. Mrs. Thompson was a Sunday School Teacher in years past, was the Sunday School’s Card Sender, and enjoyed praising God through music by singing in the choir. She loved working in her yard and gardening. Mrs. Thompson was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was an encourager to her children and friends by instilling Christ’s love for them often through scripture. Mrs. Thompson was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph “Joe” Thompson and her two sons, Max and Tyler Thompson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Toni Dingley and her husband Emmett of Virginia and Page Thompson of Greensboro; grandchildren, Laura Robinette and husband Phil, Jessica Weldin and husband Tom, and Samuel “Sam” Thompson; and great=grandchildren, Jacquetta Weldin, Ethan Weldin, and Alex Robinette.
