A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Friday, September 10, 2010 at First Lutheran Church, 3600 W. Friendly Ave. Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Fred is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor; son, Rick and wife Nancy of Hopkinton, MA; daughter, Kathy Burke and husband Fred of Greensboro; and grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Ryan, and Kristen.
Fred was a US Army veteran of WWII and a longtime member of the N. Bellmore American Legion Post #1749. He was employed by New York Telephone Company for over 40 years.
