Gerri was born July 12, 1938 in Johnston County, NC, a daughter to the late Emory Strickland and Pearl Strickland. She was in administration for over 40 years. Gerri enjoyed the comforts of her home. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Preceding Gerri's death was her companion, Frank (Buddy) Stevenson, two sisters, Helen Johnson and Grace Strickland.
Surviving are Gerri's son, Steven E. Strickland (Tammy); two sisters, Janice Yeager and Shelby Beasley; three grandchildren, Jason Strickland, Josh Strickland and Dillon Strickland; and four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Strickland, Cameron Strickland, Bailee Strickland and Arthur Strickland.

A Celebration of Gerri's life will be held Friday June 13, 2025 at 12 noon at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services of Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery of Greensboro, NC.
