

Graveside funeral services will be held at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC on June 14th at 1:00 pm with Reverend Willie Teague officiating followed by a military burial.
Gil was born in Newberry County, South Carolina on November 21, 1932 to the late Gilliam Senn Teague and Bertice Neville McCollum. He was the oldest of four children: John David Teague, Bertice Teague Robinson and Willie Senn Teague. After graduating from Whitmire High School, he attended the University of South Carolina where he received his BS in Chemistry. He then entered the Air Force where he graduated from meteorology school at the University of St. Louis. After completing four years of service, which included 11 months overseas on the atoll of Enewetak in the Pacific, he returned to the University of South Carolina in 1958 and earned a Masters Degree in Chemistry.
While attending graduate school, he met and married the love of his life, Linda Frances Kennedy. They had two sons, Gilliam S. Teague III and William Edward Teague. He began a long career at Eastman Chemical Products in Kingsport, TN. In 1973, Gil left their laboratories and entered the marketing department, which prompted their move to Jamestown, NC. He ultimately retired from Eastman and a short consulting career.
Gil was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. He was a wonderful “Sonny Boy” to his parents, big brother to his siblings, husband for almost 66 years to Linda, father to his sons and “Pops” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was loving, kind, generous, patient, and wise – a true blessing to his family and friends. He lived a full and wonderful Christian life. He played sports as a youth, played tennis and was an avid runner as an adult. He thoroughly enjoyed all sports, especially college football and major league baseball.
Gil is survived by his wife, Linda, his sister Bertice and brother Willie (wife Marcella), his two sons, Gil Teague (Rebecca) and Ed Teague (Susan). He had six grandchildren; Michael Teague (Erica), Robert Teague, Amanda Teague Harris (Gary), Jonathan Teague, Brittney Teague Allen (Josh), Stephanie Teague Walker (Taylor) and seven great grandchildren; Lauren, Matthew, Katie and Jack Harris, Sylvia and Shepherd Allen and James Walker. Gil is preceded in death by his brother John David Teague.
God blessed him with a long and happy life. He will forever be in our hearts.
