Glenda Poe Huckabee

She was preceded in death by her parents Cooper and Oleta York Poe and a sister Janice Lee Poe.

A Memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday September 26, 2010 at Mount Pleasant UMC with the Dr. John Franklin Howard officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

Glenda was born and raised in Greensboro and was a member of Mount Pleasant UMC. She was a graduate of Smith High School. She attended Central Carolina Wesleyan College in South Carolina and graduated from Guilford Technical Institute; she was a former employee of VF Corporation and Guilford County Schools. She was an avid reader and a lifelong caregiver and educator of children.

She is survived by her husband Robert Huckabee of the home; three sons, Matthew Huckabee of Whitsett, Joshua Huckabee and Daniel Huckabee of the home; a brother Thomas Poe of Siler City, NC and several nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening September 25, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel.
