

December 16, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on March 17, 1945, in High Point, North Carolina, to James Avery Proctor and Maxine Gordon Proctor,
Harold is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 34 years, Sandy Sharpe Proctor, and step-son, Michael Rook {Rose}. He was a loving PopPop to Hunter, Ashley, and Peyton Rook. He was a much-loved Uncle to all his nieces and nephews: Kevin, Duaine, CJ, and Kristy. As well as great-uncle to Sidney, Josh, Aaron, Megan, Hayden, Kaylee, Avery, Garrett, Cameron, Brianna, and Hunter, and a special PopPop to Liam.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents J. Avery and Maxine Proctor; his siblings Nancy P. Glidewell, Roger Proctor, Linda P. Chandler, and Larry Proctor; as well as his nieces Bridgette Chandler, Darlene Pannell, and nephew Darren.
A 1964 graduate of Allen Jay High School, Harold volunteered to serve in the US Navy from 1964 to 1968, serving from 1967 to 1968 in Vietnam. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Bronze Star, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Bar with Device.
Harold was a very successful entrepreneur, good at everything he attempted. He co-owned Sedgefield Outdoor Equipment, Sedgefield Lawn and Garden, and Alamance Outdoor Equipment with his brother, Larry, for 42 years. He had many roles that he cherished within his community including Treasurer of Aldersgate Housing Board, for 25 years, President of Aldersgate Housing Board for 1 year; on the Board of Children’s Redeemed International for 10 years, chaired the Board of Trustees and was a faithful member of Guilford College United Methodist Church for 34 years, and faithful member of the James Tew Sunday School Class that he loved so much. Member of Piedmont Triad Shag Club, and Honorary Shriner, and unwavering American Patriot! Served 5 different food ministries and countless acts of kindness throughout the community.
He will be remembered for his great love of his family, community, country, and was the best example of leadership to all who had the honor of knowing him.
