

Agnes Helen McCandless Jessup, 85, a resident of Greensboro, passed away on Friday April 17, 2020 at the Hospice Home of High Point. She was born in Guilford County on June 9, 1934, the daughter of Joseph Arthur and Mamie Adams McCandless.
She retired from K-Mart on Holden Road and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Helen was married to Calvin Lester Jessup who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Pansy M. Henley, Marie M. Dwiggins, Ruby Dean M. Chadwick, Beatrice M. Hudson, Daisy McCandless and her brothers, Franklin Arthur “F.A.” McCandless, Fred Ulden McCandless and Nathan Hope McCandless.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamala Jessup Woody and husband William of Randleman, Tina Jessup Brooks and husband Jerry of Lynchburg, VA; two sons, William Rex Jessup and wife Cindy of Trinity, Calvin Ray Jessup and wife Libby of Randleman; seven grandchildren, Gail Allred, Aubrey Woody, Elizabeth Jessup, Jonathan Jessup, Rex Jessup, Jr., Lisa Cain, Jay Brooks, III and 12 great grandchildren and a great grandchild soon to be born.
Private family services will be held Wednesday with interment to follow in Guilford Memorial Park. A public Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Jessup will lie in state on Tuesday April 21st from 11:30 am until 5:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel for those that wish to come by and pay their respects.
