Mrs. Helen Lorena Richmond Scoggins, 71, a resident of McLeansville died Saturday February 5, 2011. Helen was born in Alamance County March 15, 1939 a daughter of Lawrence Vernon and Lillian Solomon Richmond. On January 16, 1963 she was married to Billy Joe Scoggins who preceded her in death on April 28, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are one daughter, Suzanna Scoggins Venable and her husband Shawn of Kernersville; three sons, Billy Lee Scoggins of Gibsonville, Tracy Joe Scoggins of McLeansville, Lawrence Tony Scoggins of Gibsonville; one sister, Elaine Hart of Burlington; one brother, Vernon Richmond and his wife Becky of Greensboro and one grandson, Riley Jordan Venable.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home North Elm Chapel conducted by Pastor Craig L. Peak. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home North Elm St. on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to be made to the Gideon’s Bible.
