Miss Iris Marie Cox, 85, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Friday September 23, 2016 at the Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and Rehab Center. Iris was born February 12, 1931 in Guilford County, the daughter of Joe Almond and Jewell Stanley Cox.
She was a graduate of Greensboro High School and grew up as a member of Florida St. Baptist Church. Iris retired after 30 years with Bank of America.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy Jo Crawley.
Iris is survived by her sister, Marion Louise Cox of Greensboro; her brother, Jack Norman Cox, Sr. of Pleasant Garden and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Kevin Kilbreth.
Entombment will be in Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
