Died May 25th 2014 a the age of 95
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife Josephine of 61 years and his brother Stephen.
He is survived by his sister Gilda, his three sons and their wife's- Jim & Lynn,Robert & Bonnie, and Richard, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was a graduate of Fordham University in Bronx, N.Y. and a Captain in the USMC during world War II, training pilots to fly in combat. After the Marine Corps he was an Airline Pilot with Eastern Airlines ( “The Wings of Man”) for 30 + years until his retirement. He captained the Tri-Star L 1011 whisper liner for his last years and had an impeccable reputation for safety.
Jim Lived most of his adult life between New York and Florida spending about 6 months in each to take advantage of the best that both states had to offer. He loved his friends, his wife and children, eating out, traveling, dancing and life.
A celebration of Life will be held at Hanes-Lineberry, Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road, Greensboro, NC 27407 on Friday May 30th at 3:00 PM
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Carolina Field of Honor, 600 N Regional Road, Greensboro NC 27049.
