James Michael Case, age 77, of Franklinville, NC, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2025. Mike was born August,5 1947, in Randolph County, the son of the late Zeb Augusta Case Jr. and Emma Jean Seabolt. A devoted rider, he found his greatest joy on the open road, the rumble of his beloved Harley-Davidson beneath him and the wind at his back. Classic cars were another of his lifelong passions. He could spend hours under the hood, restoring vintage beauties to their former glory.
A man of strength and integrity, Mike honorably served his country for six years as a machine gun squad leader and military police officer in the U.S. Army. His time in the service instilled in him a deep sense of duty and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life. After his military service, he dedicated many years to Lorillard Tobacco Company before retiring. Mike was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, and he loved the Lord.
In his later years, his most loyal companion was his cherished service dog, Sweet Pea, who was always by his side, offering comfort, companionship, and unconditional love.
Preceded in Mike’s death is his son, Rodney Allen Case and his granddaughter Morgan Crutchfield.
He is survived by his son, James Michael Case Jr. (Amy), two sisters; Susan Cooper and Lisa Lewis, one granddaughter, Ariel Case, two grandsons; Noah Crutchfield and Andrew Benton, along with a community of friends who will miss his humor, his stories, and his kind heart. Though he has taken his final ride, his spirit will forever be felt in the roar of a Harley and the shine of a classic car well-loved.
A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield in Greensboro. Visitation will be held one hour prior of service. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
