A graveside service will be held on Monday, 2:00 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park by Rev. Jim Watford.
James was born October 8, 1921 in Stokes County, the son of George and Maryanne Dodson Duncan. James was a veteran of the US Army and was employed by Hennis Freight Lines for over 20 years before becoming a partner in Langley and Duncan Auctioneers, which he particularly loved. He also worked at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Homes for many years.
Surviving are his son, Tim Duncan and wife Shelia of Greensboro; brothers, Jerry and George Duncan of Greensboro and Kenneth Duncan of Liberty; sisters, Florence Smith of Greensboro, Louise Kivett of Ramseur and Helen Langley of Liberty; granddaughters, Stephanie Roberts and Shelby Duncan; great grandsons, Kaleb Roberts and Cody Virden.
Friends will be received Sunday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
