James "Jimmy" Reid

Jimmy was born April 28th, 1947 in Five Points, PA the son of James Willis and Pauline Maczko Reid.

He graduated from Burgettstown High School in 1965, and while working at Weirton Steel Mill attended the School of Christian Evangelism in Rogers, Ohio. After retiring in 1993 he was ordained as minister at LeBell View Church of Christ ministering as associate. He later went to First Christian Church in Chester, WV. Jimmy had senior ministries at Piedmont Christian in Greensboro, NC , Willowton Church of Christ in WV, and Woodard's Pond Church of Christ, Washington, NC. In 2010 he retired coming back to Greensboro to live.

He was preceded in death by his father James Reid.

On May 2, 1970 he was married to the former Georgette Louise Schayes, who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife Georgette are two daughters, Cherie Lynn Pettit and husband Jesse of Gibsonville, Lorie Ann Byers and husband David of Gibsonville; his mother Pauline M. Reid of Burgettstown, PA; one brother, John Reid and wife Tina of Weirton, WV ; one sister, Jessica Dettore and husband Richard of Weirton, WV and four grandchildren, Brandon, Kevon, D.J. and Jeremy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Tom Arehart. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
