

Mr. James “Jim” Robert Williams, 69 a resident of Greensboro died Monday March 26, 2012. Mr. Williams was born February 10, 1943 in Rockingham Co., the son of Jim Tom and Margaret Mabe Williams. He grew up in the Madison and Mayodan communities before moving to Greensboro in 1965. He was employed with Carolina By-Products for 23 years and later with the Greensboro Housing Authority for 12 years. Jim in his youth was a scout and was awarded the Eagle. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He loved his family and traveling to different cities and places. He enjoyed flying his model planes and going to flea markets. He was a member of Alamance Presbyterian Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jim Tom Williams.
On September 25, 1965 he was married to the former Brenda Maxwell. Surviving are his wife Brenda Maxwell Williams of the home; one daughter, Kristine Williams Jones and husband Bradley of Greensboro; two sons, Kenneth Williams and Brian Williams both of Greensboro; his mother, Mrs. Margaret M. Williams of Mayodan; two sisters, Ann Williams Atkins and husband Michael of Mayodan, Gail Williams Watford and husband “Tommy” of Mayodan, five grandchildren, Cameron Jones, Austin Jones, Kayla Williams, Cierra Williams and Carson Williams; special nieces and nephews and a special friend Martha Hairston.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Carl Parsons. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
