Janelle Snider

Janelle Baker Snider peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 16, 2017. She was born in Greensboro, NC and was adopted thru The Children’s Home Society of NC by Mr. and Mrs. J. Egan Baker of Burlington, NC.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the First Baptist Church and the family will visit with friends in the church Atrium after the service.

While attending Greensboro College she met the love of her life of 62 years at First Baptist Church. They together with family and friends enjoyed many trips to Maine, the beach, and their mountain home where they made lifelong friends. She so loved her family and gave them greatest gift by loving her husband in many special ways.

She had a gift of serving and did so in many organizations as well as in her church where she was very involved with groups but her favorite was the Bereavement Committee for many years.

Janelle is survived by her husband Albert G. Snider; daughters, Carlyne Hovis and Mary Ellen Smith (Scott); grandchildren, Dean Hovis (Lori), Ashley Kiser (Brian), Eric Hovis (Kelly), Chris Smith and Zhou Smith; and 8 great grandchildren.

Her vivacious laughter and contagious smile will be missed.

The family thanks the wonderful team in ICU at Moses Cone Hospital for their love and care.
