

Jean Hahn Derrick passed away peacefully Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Countryside Manor in Stokesdale. Jean was born in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in Germany after WWII when her father returned to Germany to assist in its reconstruction. After graduating high school in Germany, her family moved back to the States in 1953 and lived in Greensboro, NC.
In 1954, she married David Zauber. They were members of Temple Emanuel in Greensboro and were married 27 years. In 1984, Jean came to the understanding that Jesus is the promised Messiah. Later that same year she married Don Derrick, and they were married 31 years until his death in 2015.
Jean has 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and counting. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and loved her fellowship there.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hedi Hahn; her brother Ronald, a physician in Germany, her identical twin sister Joan Hahn Tilles and her 2nd husband, Don Derrick. She is survived by her daughter Mollie Dragstrem (Kelley) and her son David Zauber, Jr. (Sonya); her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and their families.
Her love for God, her children and grandchildren, her extended family, as well as so many others the Lord brought into her life, could hardly be contained. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A private graveside service was held on Monday, June 23, 2025 and a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 5736 Inman Road, Greensboro.
The family would like to thank the members of Cornerstone Baptist Church for their ongoing love for Jean, the staff at Countryside Manor for their compassionate care of Jean in these last months of her life.
