Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services located at 1900 Vanstory St. in Greensboro. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Born August 2, 1949 in Greensboro, to the late Troy Parrish and Annie Lucille Bowman Parrish, he was a faithful member of Community Chapel Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the church choir. Jerry retired from Stameys BBQ on High Point Rd. after 45 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Parrish and brother, William Gaither.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Mary Hitchens and friend Tommy Dengate of the home; step-sister, Irene Bartley; nephews, JR Puckett and Shannon Puckett; nieces, Tonya Hunt, Tina Puckett, and Betty Puckett; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and other extended family and friends.
