Jessie Louise Baum

Having lived the full measure of her 96 years, Jessie Louise Baum passed away on April 3, 2023 in the loving presence of her daughter Beverly Baum, friend Scott Sumner, her exceptional home health aide Tia Jessup, and Harvey her cat.

She was born Jessie Louise Agan on September 13, 1926 in Cliffside, New Jersey to Wellington Edward Agan and Sarah Ellen (Langley) Agan. Jessie graduated in the class of 1944 from Cliffside High School and then attended the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City. On January 15, 1946 Jessie married the love of her life, Harvey A. Baum, Jr. with whom she would enjoy 66 years of marriage. While caring for their three children, Jessie went to work for the Haworth Municipal Government in New Jersey where she retired as court clerk in 1987. Following retirement, Jessie and Harvey moved to North Redington Beach, Florida where Jessie spent her golden years poolside on the beach enjoying swimming daily, wine, dark chocolates and many visits by family and friends - all with a beautiful view of sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico.

Jessie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harvey Baum, Jr .

Jessie is survived by her daughters Barbara (Robert) Hammond, Beverly Baum; son Harvey (Marta) Baum, III; as well as her grandchildren Deborah (Larry) Altenburg, Jason (Ashley) Sumner, Daniel (Kristyn) Hammond, Jack ( Katie ) Sumner, Noah (Weatherly) Hammond, Paul Eric Sumner and Sarah Hammond; and numerous great-grandchildren .

The family expresses great thanks for the outstanding care and support provided by Tia Jessup and the staff at hospice care.
