John was born on February 24, 1936 to Lillian T. Covert and William B. Covert.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 50 plus years, Inez B. Covert; sister, Frances Covert, and brother, Jimmy Covert.
John is survived by his son John L. (Jay) Covert and wife Lisa, daughters, Sharron Rickman and husband Charlie and Jo Lynn Covert; brother, Harold Covert of Florida; granddaughter, Cynthia Kirkman (Ricky Kirkman); great grandchildren: Ryan Kirkman, Morgan Kirkman and Ally Kirkman, Nicholas Covert and Jack Covert, Liam Covert and Owen Covert and one great great granddaughter, Leah Kirkman.
John was a US Navy veteran and fought in the Korean Conflict.
A special thanks goes out to the nurses, nurses’ aides and everyone at the Hospice House of Randolph at the Asheboro Division for their love and care showed to Dad.
There will be no service or visitation.
