John James Fitzgerald Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2017, at Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic Church, 2210 North Elm Street, with Monsignor Anthony Marcaccio officiating.

John was born October 16, 1930, in the Bronx, NY to the late John James Fitzgerald, Sr. and Agnes Cody Fitzgerald. He graduated from St. Peter’s College in New Jersey and became a CPA. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. After being discharged, he worked in private industry and then for the Internal Revenue Service until he retired in 1998. In addition, he was an Adjunct Professor at Suffolk Community College where he taught accounting for 30 years.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Robert and William Fitzgerald. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Grace Fitzgerald; children, John James Fitzgerald, III and wife, Patricia of Franklin, MA, Eileen Fitzgerald and William Soles of Greensboro, Catherine Sola and husband, Joseph of Madison; grandchildren, John J. Fitzgerald IV and wife, Erika, Ashley Fitzgerald, James, Jack and Christopher Campbell, Alyssa, Courtney, and Joseph Sola.

The family will receive family and friends from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street.
