John Henry Garner

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, July 22, 2019 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Rd., in Greensboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the church.

Jack was born on November 30, 1952 in Guilford County to the late James C. Garner, Sr. and Ozzie Faulks Garner. He worked in construction as a Brick Mason for 45 years. After retiring, in his free time, Jack enjoyed working in the yard, fishing, playing golf, and cheering for The Pittsburg Steelers. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, James C. Garner "J.C."

Those left to cherish his memory include his adoring wife, Kathy B. Garner; sons, Jerron Garner (Julie) of Mesa, AZ; daughter, Shamain Garner of Mesa, AZ; step-son, Stephen Booker; sister, Mary Long (Ronald); grandchildren, Nigel, Sameeah, and Sameer, all of Greensboro; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will gather at the home of Jack's sister, Mary Long at 2504 Dunnhill Dr. in Greensboro.
