Graveside Service will be 11:00 am Friday, February 13, 2015 at Lakeview Memorial Park.
A native of Guilford County, John was the Director of Infectious Disease in Washington, DC. During his junior year at Northeast High School, John participated in the schools internship program working at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Homes. John went on to get his BS in Nursing at UNC-G and then proceeded to obtain his Masters in Infectious Disease Control in Washington, DC.
He was preceded in death by his father John H. Gourley, Sr., John is survived by his mother Linda Mason and stepfather J. Mason of Greensboro, NC; sister, Jessie Ackerman and husband Christopher of Greensboro and also surviving are nieces Christy and Melissa Ackerman.
The family will receive friends following the service.
