

J.C. was a WW II veteran, retired from the U.S. Posta Service and the North Carolina Air National Guard. He loved both careers, but was happiest when serving as a loadmaster on a C-130, delivering supplies and equipment all over the world. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 11533
J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Junius Cullen Harris, Sr. and Thelma Faulkner Harris; his sister, Edith Stanley and his brothers, Grayson and Grover Harris.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Cardwell Harris; two sons, Donnie Harris and fiance’ Pam Phillips of Greensboro, Steve Harris and wife Darby of Wilmington and two grandchildren, Hunt Harris and Hanes Harris both of Raleigh.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Mitch Wilson with Military Honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in J.C.’s memory to the Palliative Medicine Team at Cone Health, 1200 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401; Centenary United Methodist Church, 2300 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
