Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
Karrlow was born in Durham, NC to the late Jack and Florence Farrell and was a member of Word of Life Family Church, in Burlington. Karrlow was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Navy. Since the age of five, he loved spending most of his free time on the golf course. If anyone would ask what he did for a living, his response would be “Pro Golfer”. In all actuality he was a car dealer/salesman, and for many years he was the owner of Farrell Pontiac-Oldsmobile-Buick in Morehead City, NC. He retired from Green Ford in Greensboro. Karrlow was fun-loving guy who never meet a stranger. He was always the life of the party. He was a member of the Greensboro Elks Lodge, was a Jitterbug Champion and was a self-made abstract artist. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His children refer to him as the “best daddy in the whole wide world”. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jack.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 53 years, Cynthia Frances Farrell of the home; children, Karr Winslow “Win” Farrell and his wife Diane of CT, Kim Barnes and husband Rodney of Greensboro, Kyle Farrell and wife Kim, also of the home, and Karr Lynn Johnson and her husband Robert of Leasburg, NC; sisters, Helen Guthrie of Winston-Salem and Nancy DeFleurs of Florida; grandchildren, Hilary Prosnitz, Margaret Farrell, Brandon Karr Wells, Elaine Heath, Dwight Johnson, and Frances-Kate Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Karrson Wells, William Braxton Heath, and Rayland Tate Wells.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm this Saturday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
