Kenneth Gray Busick, 88, of Mount Airy, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday June 12, 2025. How fitting that he passed on Father’s Day weekend in time to be with his heavenly Father.
He was preceded in death by his father David Monroe Busick, his mother Leadie Allen Busick, and siblings R.D. Busick, Virginia Hall, and Helen Willis. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Dot Busick, his daughter Marie Savoie and her husband Reese, his son James Busick, and his wife Sharyn, and his three grandchildren Mackenzie, Savannah, and Hunter.
After graduating from Guilford College in 1968, he worked as Manager of Operations for Greensboro City Schools, and Guilford Technical Community College until his retirement in 1996. He served as a Deacon for several years in both Greensboro, and Mount Airy, and was a board member for Fruitland Bible College for four years. He loved spending time at the beach, collecting antiques with his best friend Jim Boyd, and spoiling his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Samaritan’s Purse, or the Salvation Army.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the entire staff of Surry Community Health Center for their loving and compassionate care of the entire family during this difficult time. Also, sincere gratitude to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 16 at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 154 Mt. View Drive, Mount Airy, NC with interment to follow at Skyline Memorial Gardens, 432 Old Buck Shoals Road, Mount Airy.
